Nearly 400 people benefit from the Agrarian Training Plan in Puerto Lumbreras (31/10/2018)

Coinciding with the closure of the Agricultural Training Plan, the Social Center of La Estación-Esparragal hosted yesterday the act of awarding diplomas

The Agricultural Training Plan 2018 organized by the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has had the participation of almost 400 people who have been able to benefit from the 23 courses offered to facilitate specialization in different areas related to the primary sector.

The training actions have been organized by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Water of the town, in collaboration with organizations such as CIFEA Lorca.

This is a broad training action this year, in addition to the traditional courses offered as pruning in all its variants, safe handling of the tractor or those required to work with phytosanitary products or biocides, the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Water of the town has expanded its list betting on training aimed at the sector of gardening.

Thus, those interested Lumbrerenses have been able to make training in initiation to the cultivation of bonsai, landscaping and garden design, or palm pruning.

During the last weeks, training initiatives have been developed in pruning and almond grafting and, as a novelty, an introductory course in oenology for wine enthusiasts.

Coinciding with the closure of the Agricultural Training Plan, the Social Center of the hamlet of La Estación-Esparragal hosted yesterday the act of delivery of diplomas of the training actions carried out during the last year.

The event was attended by the mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, and the general director of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Francisco José González.

The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, wanted to recall that "agriculture and livestock are the main engines of job creation in the town, so we focus our efforts on the professionalization of the sector through continuous training of people unemployed, since it is a space where they can find a new opportunity and contribute to the creation of local wealth ".

The Agricultural Training Plan has the collaboration of different associations such as Asaja, Upa, Coag-Ir, as well as the Integrated Training and Experiences Center of Lorca (CIFEA) in whose facilities the practical part of those courses that need specialized facilities in the subject to impart.

Other public spaces used for this training are the Women's Center, the Municipal Library or the Municipal Offices of La Estación-Esparragal.
