Two employment programs will create new jobs in Puerto Lumbreras (14/01/2019)

The Employment and Training Service of the Region of Murcia (SEF) has granted two public employment grants to the City of Puerto Lumbreras with a total amount amounting to 47,666.61 euros.

The Department of Employment will implement in the coming months these two employment programs, 'Puerto Lumbreras Cleaning II' and 'Puerto Lumbreras Hiring', which will allow the hiring of two cleaning workers and an administrative assistant.

The pawns will develop a Special Cleaning and Disinfection Plan in educational and cultural centers for nine months.

The amount of this subsidy represents an investment of 33,508.44 euros.

On the other hand, the full-time administrative assistant will perform support tasks to the technicians of the Department of Intervention, especially in the tasks necessary for the processing of minor contracts.

In this case, the Employment and Training Service allocates 14,158.17 euros for hiring for a period of nine months.

The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, stressed that "with the implementation of these measures we contribute to maintaining the trend of reducing the unemployment rate, which currently stands at 6.17%, well below the regional and national rate ".

The mayor has pointed out that "the rate is at the lowest level registered in the last nine years in Puerto Lumbreras."

The total number of unemployed in December 2018 is 649.

The office of the Employment and Training Service of Lorca, according to the profile requested, is the one that conducts the survey to carry out the pre-selection of the possible candidates available.

The mayor explained that "this process will be carried out in the coming days, the selected people should be included in the joint action program for long-term unemployed (PAC-PLD)."

To do this, they must be unemployed for 12 months in the last 18 months.

The scheduled date for the start of this program is March 31.

Only persons who meet certain requirements, such as being unemployed and registered in the corresponding Employment Office of the Regional Employment and Training Service and are available for employment, can participate in these programs;

adapt to the job offered;

and not having reached the legal retirement age.
