The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras will receive 3,392'60 euros destined to the realization of projects or programs that develop the State Pact against Gender Violence, such as awareness raising and prevention campaigns, creation and improvement of the Support Units at the local level o coordination tables, reinforcement of municipal victim assistance and information services, specialized training of professionals at the local level;

reinforcement of the Local Police Corps attached to the VioGén System and reinforcement of Family Encounter Points, among others.

All this through an agreement between the local Consistory and the Ministry of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Equality.

A few months ago, the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras signed the protocol by which the Local Police are incorporated into the VioGén system for comprehensive monitoring of cases of gender-based violence, in order to prevent and avoid risks of new aggressions.

The VioGén system is activated when the Security Forces and Bodies are aware of a possible case of gender violence.

At that time, a personalized and periodic monitoring of the victim is carried out, determining the protection measures most appropriate to their level of risk.

This is one of the measures carried out in the municipality to fight against gender violence, in addition to having a CAVI (Center for Attention to Victims of Gender Violence), talks, training sessions, campaigns and other initiatives.

María Ángeles Tunisia emphasizes that "with the development of this agreement the basic criteria of collaboration are established, which allow optimizing the human and material resources of the Corps and Security Forces existing in our municipality, to guarantee the effective compliance of the judicial measures of protection of victims of gender violence. "
