The Mayor presented the municipal budgets for 2016 with an increase of 20% in social assistance (02/03/2016)

Municipal budgets for 2016 are equipped with 12,513,515 08 euros and mainly focus on social services, education and employment.

The government team has reduced taxes for the year 2016. The citizens will benefit from a drop of Property Tax (IBI) of 25%.

They have decreased funds intended for government bodies by 14% and reduced current spending by 17%.

Budgets have significant income in the Autonomous Community.

The regional government will invest in Puerto Lumbreras over 2,500,000 euros.

The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, and the Councillor for Finance, Raquel Rodriguez, presented this morning at a press conference the main lines of municipal budgets 2016, after being approved yesterday afternoon in the Municipal Council.

Specifically, municipal budgets for 2016 are equipped with 12,513,515 08 euros and mainly focus on social services, education and employment.

Thus, budgets for this year have increased 20% in the game of social policies over the previous year.

Thus, the budgetary allocation for social services is greater than 1,300,000 euros and intended to set aside for education is 1,200,000 euros.

In this sense, the mayor stressed that "it is realistic municipal budgets that guarantee the welfare of all citizens."

In this regard, Maria Angeles Tunisia said "are public accounts that generate confidence and are made with the sole purpose of further improving the quality of life of lumbrerenses".

It should be noted that 2016 budgets have significant revenues from the region.

Thus, the Government of the Region of Murcia will invest in Puerto Lumbreras over 2,500,000 euros in order to launch new projects and services, while existing ones are improved.

Specifically, in education the construction of a new Secondary School and the expansion of the CEIP Juan Antonio Lopez Alcaraz is planned.

On the other hand, in the field of social assistance, the resources allocated to the provision of home care for dependents and investments for maintenance service Day Centre for Dependent and Early Childhood Center will be conducted will be increased.

In addition, Puerto Lumbreras will feature new revenue from the Regional Administration for basic social service benefits.

Notably, employment, Puerto Lumbreras has received from the Autonomous Region a grant of 223,424 euros, which will allow the hiring of 28 unemployed people in the municipality.
