More than 200 people participated in the solidarity march on the occasion of the commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Then, the attendees carried out a solidarity march carrying banners up to the footbridge.
Arriving at the pedestrian walkway, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, read the institutional manifesto against gender violence and kept a minute of silence in homage to the victims.
In addition, attendees placed their purple ties on the footbridge as a symbolic gesture of support for victims of gender violence.
This activity is part of the program organized by the Department of Equal Opportunities of the City of Puerto Lumbreras with the aim of raising awareness of the problem and support the victims.
It should be noted that the program "I love being a woman" includes an awareness campaign against abuse, which consists of the distribution of information and placement of banners in visible places of the town during the month of November.

On the other hand, there have been workshops on relationships in equality, projection of films related to this problem, personal defense classes, talks about family coexistence in equality, contest of drawing stickers with messages against gender violence, among others.
