Nearly 150 athletes participated yesterday in the XXIV edition of the Popular Urban Mile "City of Puerto Lumbreras".

Thus, among the participants were athletes from different municipalities of the Region and other nearby provinces.

The competition had the start and finish in Pedro Garcia Rubio Avenue, and was played in the categories petates (born in 2012 and later), prebenjamín (born in 2010 and 2011), benjamines (born in 2008 and 2009), fry (born in 2006 and 2007), children (born in 2004 and 2005), cadets (born in 2002 and 2003), youth (born 2001 and 2000), junior (born 1999 and 2000), promises (born 1995, 1996, 1997 ), senior (born between 1982 and 1194), veterans A, veterans B, veterans C, veterans D, veterans E and veterans F (60 years and over).

The winners in the senior category were Antonio Gómez Belmonte (male) and María José Martínez Moreno (female) from the Orbitalia- CA Nogalte club.

It should be noted that the event is part of the municipality's Fiestas Patronales program and was organized by the Esparragal Sports Association and Nogalte Athletics Club, in collaboration with the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, CajaMurcia BMN Group and Hogar Puerto Lumbreras.
