The Lumbrerense Pedro José Quiles will give the proclamation of Holy Week of Puerto Lumbreras 2018, which will be celebrated on Saturday, March 17, at the end of the Mass at 7:00 pm, at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary.
The appointment, which was approved by the Cabildo de Confraternios Pasionarias de Puerto Lumbreras, responds to the great involvement and dedication of Pedro José Quiles with the culture and traditions of the municipality, especially with Holy Week.
The town crier was one of the founders of the Reale Ilustre Brotherhood of the Most Holy Christ of the Faith and Mary Most Holy of Mercy, which made it possible to promote again the Holy Week in Lumbrerense.
Since then, Pedro José Quiles has collaborated, year after year, in an active and uninterrupted way in said Brotherhood, performing in it various functions such as the costalero, standard bearer or Nazarene.
He has also held different positions within the Board of Directors of the Brotherhood as Vice President or Big Brother, a position he currently holds.
But its relationship with the church and the religious movement does not only focus on the Brotherhood.
In his spare time, Pedro José Quiles collaborates in a completely disinterested way with Parish Caritas, the Patronato de la Virgen del Rosario or the Rosaries of Lourdes, activities that are organized during the year.
Cofrade de Honor of the Holy Week
It should be noted that, as a novelty, this year Joaquín García Torrente has been named as Cofrade de Honor of the Holy Week of Puerto Lumbreras 2018. This decision has been taken by the Cabildo de Confraternias Pasionarias de Puerto Lumbreras.
Joaquín García is a standard bearer in the Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno and the oldest active brother of the said Brotherhood.
