The Tourist Qualification Center offers a creative tapas workshop in Puerto Lumbreras (11/04/2018)

This initiative is part of the first edition of the Gastronomic Days "Sabor lumbrerense" that take place throughout the month of April.

The Tourism Qualification Center (CCT), under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, is launching a free creative tapas course this week in Puerto Lumbreras, aimed especially at active hospitality workers.

The objective of this training action, which is taught in the facilities of the Hotel Riscal, is to make known to the attendees different techniques for making tapas, applying new textures in their design and using products at affordable prices.

During the practical part of the course, dishes are prepared such as blinis de orange and brandade of cod with apple salad, pinto of jowl with cigala and creamy potato agripicante and crunchy of sesame or skewered crispy vegetables with quicos and their special creams.

The training course takes place during two days in the afternoon from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

At the end of the gastronomy workshop, participants will receive a diploma.

The Councilor for Employment and Commerce, Angela Morillas, has been present at the opening of the course and stressed that "it is an excellent opportunity for fans of gastronomy, as well as for those active workers in the hospitality sector who want to acquire or perfecting their knowledge in order to increase their job opportunities. "

This course, framed within the 1st Gastronomic Days, is complemented by other training actions recently developed by the Tourism Qualification Center in the municipality, such as the "basic restaurant and bar operations" course and "basic cooking operations".

The next activity of the Gastronomic Days will be a workshop-tasting of ecological food, oriented towards a conscious diet, free of sugars and obtained from the vegetable kingdom.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, April 17 at 6:00 pm at the Buenaventura Romera Nursery and is organized by My Botica.

Morillas stressed that "it is important to promote initiatives of this type that result in the culinary and professional qualification because, in the tourism model, gastronomy and restoration play a differential role".

According to data from the tourism survey of residents of the National Institute of Statistics, the Region of Murcia was the fifth autonomous community with a greater weight of gastronomy as the main reason for the trip of tourists residing in Spain, just behind La Rioja, Basque Country, Asturias and the Balearic Islands.

Finally, it should be noted that the creative tapas course has the collaboration of the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, Chamber of Commerce of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras, Aseplu and Hotel Riscal.
