The municipality expects to close the summer season, surpassing the 8,000 swimmers registered facilities throughout last summer.

The city of Puerto Lumbreras pools have been more than 6,000 users throughout the month of July.
For the second consecutive year, the facility recorded a considerable increase of visitors, and during the month of August is expected to exceed 8,000 users who received the municipal swimming pool last summer in which the figure increased by more than 20%.
According to the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, "from the session lumbrerense make a firm commitment to enhance public facilities and provide citizens with quality service every summer."
During this year the council has also launched an aquatics program that includes various swimming courses for people of all ages as well as water aerobics program for the elderly, pregnant and therapeutic swimming.
The facilities, located in the Municipal Sports Centre, open to the public from 12:00 hour to 20:00 every day and remain open until the first half of September.
Puerto Lumbreras has three pools, one for children, other water activities aimed at children between 0 and 6 years, a third larger pool to adults.
Improvement in swimming pools
For the opening of public swimming pools the municipality has made several works of improvement and adaptation in plants to provide better service to users.
Specifically, we developed several cleanup actions, landscaping and appropriateness of the field.
This year also has renewed the water drainage canal bordering the pools, and created new walls and gardens in the summer.
