The Mayor and the Minister of Justice visited the final stages of construction of the new Center for Integrated Emergency Safety and Puerto Lumbreras (09/11/2010)

Infrastructure, which were finished in early 2011, will house the offices of Local Police, Civil Protection, the Emergency Coordination Center City, as well as a computer terminal associated with the single emergency telephone number 112.

The new center has a total investment of more than 2,747,000 euros, and is being built behind the Parador Nacional de Turismo on a plot of over 5,800 meters.

The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, accompanied by the Minister of Justice and Public Safety, Manuel Campos, visited this morning the final stage of the construction of the new Center for Integrated Security and Emergency under construction in the locality.

The new public facilities, which were finished in early 2011, will combine in a single infrastructure devices of the municipality as Public Safety Local Police and Civil Protection, the Emergency Coordination Center City, as well as a computer terminal associated with the Single Telephone Emergency 112.

"The new Center for Integrated Security and Emergency joins in the same space to all law enforcement authorities of the locality. This new infrastructure will allow greater coordination and collaboration of the different security bodies to provide better service to citizens "said the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.

For his part, Minister of Justice and Public Safety, Manuel Campos, said the new center will be "comprehensive, modern and adapt to the needs of law enforcement authorities of the locality."

In this sense, the new Center for Integrated Security and Emergency has a total budget of more than 2,747,000 euros funded through a collaborative agreement between the Autonomous Region and the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.

As for the new infrastructure being built on a plot of over 5,800 square meters is located in the center of the town, just behind the Parador Nacional de Turismo, and the building has 3,400 square meters distributed in basement ground floor.

The distribution of facilities and better provision of services and spaces also improve citizen services, which will be quicker and more direct.

The basement includes parking, storage, archive and put to rest, and a large shooting area.

For its part, on the ground floor are the offices of the staff of law enforcement, the reception room and citizen services, auditorium, boardroom and meeting rooms, and kitchen and dining room.

In addition, the new center will have a heliport capable of accommodating helicopters Bell 412 or similar type as those used by the device of Emergency Region.

Finally, with the creation of this new public facility will be expanded considerably the premises for the local police, due to the growth that the staff has experienced in recent years.

Currently the town has a staff of 25 officers, ten of which are attached to the Public Safety Unit of the Regional Plan.

In this regard, Sanchez concluded explaining that "the number of local police officers in Puerto Lumbreras has increased by more than half the current government team. Have also increased the material and vehicles to give priority to increasing public safety in the locality. "
