The City Council will expand its commitment to the Spanish Network of Cities for Climate (26/02/2011)

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras approved at the next Full Council that a motion to extend environmental initiatives and commitments to the Spanish Network of Cities for Climate.

The local mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, recalled that "the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has among its main objectives the implementation of actions to promote the fight against climate change and the improvement and environmental conservation ".

Among the new initiatives to be launched by the council highlights a training and awareness campaign to increase general and local knowledge of the causes and effects of climate change.
