The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez has raised the President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, "the use of some of the rooms of the Parador as training area in the field of tourism, hotel and restaurant."

The President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, received this morning at the Palacio de San Esteban the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, who held a meeting in which they have addressed various issues and topics of interest to development of the municipality.

So, Sanchez has presented results Valcárcel summer tourist season that has developed in Puerto Lumbreras, which have tripled the number of tourist visits over last year.

Thus, during the months of July and August, the town of Puerto Lumbreras has considerably increased the number of tours with the recent launch of new tourism products such as Medina Nogalte Resort, or new rural tourism in the natural setting of Cabezo de la Jara.

So, during the summer months the town has recorded more than 9,000 visitors, compared to 2,800 who registered tours last year.

In this regard, the meeting also discussed the need to ensure the viability of the Parador Nacional de Turismo de Puerto Lumbreras.

So, Sanchez explained that "despite difficulties, the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras is still open."

In addition, he noted that "during the period of Socialist Party government lost 7 years that not a single penny spent to Parador de Puerto Lumbreras. Was a time of broken promises by the PSOE, who worked for the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras ".

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, he was "very satisfied" with the "support and commitment of the President Valcárcel for the region and the City continue to work with the Government of Spain in all initiatives that ensure the viability of the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras ".

So, one of the initiatives that will work within the proposed future of Parador, is that "part of their facilities intended for uses related to training in tourism, hotel and restaurant."

Finally, Sanchez concluded by explaining that "ensuring the continuity of the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras will be a region with a larger and more attractive offer hospitality, and in turn reinforce a project that will continue to promote tourism and economic development of our town" .
