The City Council further strengthened the measures for increasing employment in the municipality after 4 consecutive months down the number of unemployed (30/05/2010)

"Puerto Lumbreras is one of the first municipalities to resolve the crisis, we are 11 points below the national average of unemployment and we have 4 consecutive months down the unemployment figure," said the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.

The City Council, through Local Development Centre, strengthens measures to increase economic development and employment in the town, with training programs for the unemployed, advice and personalized plans to Jobs.

The City Council strengthens measures to increase employment in the city after reducing over the past four months the number of unemployed.

According to the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, "this is an indicator of Puerto Lumbreras is one of the first municipalities to resolve the crisis, as we are 11 points below the national average and unemployment are down the number of unemployed" .

Specifically, during the past four months, according to data from the Regional Service Centre for Employment and Training, the town has fallen by 7.69% the number of unemployed.

Moreover, the percentage of unemployed is eleven points lower than the national average, with 9.79% in Puerto Lumbreras and 20.05% of national unemployment.

"Through the Local Development Centre, and now through the new Center for Entrepreneurship, we promote the adoption of measures that make the city a more attractive place for business. It is imperative at this moment the implementation of more active policies to promote employment in the municipality, "said the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.

Among the measures put in place by the municipality in promoting the employment service, new services include career guidance, employment exchange, or Local Training Plan which includes more than two dozen educational programs during each quarter.

In addition, the council manages and Development Employment Projects Endogenous through European programs such as the project Murcia Rural Employment Activa (mappers), aimed at social and professional integration of disadvantaged groups.

On the other hand, the municipality has launched Personal Routes to Employment, which was established as a program, created by the staff of the Centre for Local Development, which consists of different theoretical and practical workshops.

The aim of the IPE Program is to facilitate and promote skills development, personal, social and employment of persons attending, placing them in a favorable position with regard to employment.

In addition to the field of unemployment, the session designed measures to boost employment promotion and maintenance of a job.

One such measure is the Business Promotion Campaign that offers any business owner or entrepreneur free of charge a range of services and tools to help implement and consolidate its business plan.

Includes information and business guidance, collaboration with entities attached to the CDL, advice and self-Business Plans.

The campaign also provides information on grants and programs for the business.

"The business development and job creation require the implementation of policies, strategies and structured and sustained over time. Since the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras continue promoting measures to increase employment and be one of the first municipalities to leave the crisis, "he says Sanchez.
