A large number of citizens have spent this weekend in the Sports Center of Puerto Lumbreras, where the 4th edition of the National Collectables Fair is held.
Among the different exhibitions included is the usual Playmobil diorama, a collection of Dolls of the World dressed in their typical costumes, a collection of video games from the 90s, an exhibition of regional costumes by the Choirs and Dances of Puerto Lumbreras or a of the largest collections of pins in the Region of Murcia composed of more than 11,000 pieces.
This year, as the main novelty highlights the concentration of Scalextric collectors who, in addition, have organized a tournament on a large track mounted on the site of the fair.
A friendly tournament that has had a professional track, an easier track for children and a warm-up track where participants have been able to fine-tune their cars before the start of the competition.
In addition, as usual the section of purchase-sale has had exhibitors arrived from different parts of Spain (Madrid, Seville, Granada, Valencia, Asturias, Almeria, Albacete or Murcia) with materials as diverse as stamps, coins, calendars, minerals, tickets, badges, bookmarks, miniatures, scalextric, playmobil, LP's, and a long etcetera.
The Councilor for Youth, Andrés López, highlighted the great attendance of the public throughout the weekend and stressed that "this annual meeting has become a national benchmark for fans of collecting."
The mayor of Youth has stressed that "initiatives like this are vital to boost the culture and social activity of the municipality, discovering great memories carefully stored in the drawers of many homes and that, otherwise, would fall into oblivion."
