From the regional administration is expedited the authorization procedure for the burning of agricultural remains allowing the activity with a prior communication via telephone or Internet.
The Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Water and Pedanías of the City of Puerto Lumbreras has put into operation a new information service in its Municipal Dependencies of The Station-El Esparragal.
The objective is to advise on the novelties derived from the latest legal regulations regarding the use of fire for the elimination of vegetable agricultural waste, such as the one included in the Order of October 19, 2017, which dictates the phytosanitary measures to be adopted, as well as as in the resolution of October 23, 2017 of the General Directorate of the Environment for the prevention of possible forest fires.
With these two new publications, the regional public administration intends to streamline the procedures for this activity, and the authorizations of environmental agents are no longer necessary.
From now on, all those people who plan to eliminate vegetable agricultural remains can do so with prior notice to the Forestry Coordination Center via telephone 968 17 75 00 or through the email quemas.agricolas@carm.es with a minimum of 24 hours of advance.
In this communication they must provide their name, surnames, ID number, contact telephone number, municipality, polygon, cadastral parcel, the day (or days) and the time they will burn.
Telephone communication or via email is mandatory in those plots located less than 400 meters of forest land, which in the case of Puerto Lumbreras corresponds to areas of forest or ravine.
All this can be done within certain parameters, since you can only burn from Monday to Thursday and from 11.00 to 14.00 hours, or the first and / or third Saturday of each month.
It is necessary to remember that burning is still generally prohibited within the times of greatest danger (from June 1 to September 30, both inclusive), and this prohibition can be brought forward to the month of May, provided that the competent authorities so require. consider appropriate according to weather conditions.
Exceptionally, the authorizations of the burnings by the General Directorate of the Natural Environment may be favorably informed, except for the months of July and August, provided that the burnings are intended to prevent or mitigate damages caused by pests, diseases or other risks. of greater severity.
