This morning a mixed program of employment and training "Medina Nogalte" has started, which has allowed the hiring of 18 unemployed people in the municipality.

The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, accompanied by the Councilor for Employment, Ángela Morillas, has welcomed the students.

Through this program, participants perform cleaning tasks in streets, parks and gardens of the historic center, urban center and districts.

In addition, the program also includes washing and disinfection work in public buildings and industrial facilities to improve sanitation, hygiene and quality of life conditions for Lumbrerenses, as well as urban environmental quality.

This project is aimed at people in a situation of unemployment between 25 and 54 years, with the aim of facilitating their labor insertion through their participation in projects of a temporary nature for the realization of works or services of public or social utility, in which the Learning and qualification alternate with productive work.

The 18 unemployed will combine training activities with professional practice for 12 months.

At the end of the participation in the mixed project, students will receive a certificate of theoretical-practical training and professional qualification acquired.

During the development of the same, students will receive guidance, advice and professional information that will enable them both to search for employment for others and for the establishment on their own.

The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, has highlighted "the double social benefit that this initiative entails since in addition to providing participants with training for employment, their work will enable the sanitization of public buildings, streets, avenues, parks and gardens of the municipality ".

Tunisia added that "initiatives like this make Puerto Lumbreras continue to reduce its unemployment rate every month, which currently stands at around 7%, making it one of the lowest rates in the Region of Murcia."

Finally, it should be noted that the subsidy received by the City of Puerto Lumbreras by the Regional Employment and Training Service for the implementation of the employment program is 281,786.22 euros.
