The young Lumbrerense Juan Cotes Sánchez has obtained a grant from the Foundation of the University of Castilla-La Mancha to develop a project in Togo, a nation of sub-Saharan Africa.
In it he will develop, together with another partner, four proposals, among which is a contrastive study of the mother figure.
An idea that arises from the approach and development of the project 'To my mother.
A tribute to the women who gave us life 'in Puerto Lumbreras during the months of January to May 2018.
This connection is produced by the fact of following up the Lumbrerense project through his mother, María Sánchez, member of the collective 'A mi madre', making it possible from an internal vision to integrate this activity with the rest of the group.
In this way, Cotes will meet with some of the women who have participated in 'A mi madre' to share the experience, knowledge and document the interviews with which he will travel to Lomé, capital of Togo, where he will try replicate some of the actions carried out in the town of Lumbrerense.
Similarly, 'To my mother' will also be present at future conferences on gender and equality to be held at the UCLM, in which Cotes will have the opportunity to participate to tell the full experience and the results of comparing both cultures from the mother figure.
The project can be followed in Instagram account @ togototogo18.
