Riá Pitá dedicates its annual festival to the figure of the emigrant woman in 'La Vendimia' (30/06/2018)

'La Vendimia, in a strange land' is the theme chosen in the 19th edition of the Ría Pitá Flamenco Festival.

A show focused on emigration with which the group wanted to pay tribute to all those women who had to leave their land to earn their livelihood, extending this recognition to the female figure today.

Through 15 pieces, the 40 veteran students of the academy that made up the dance corps were in charge of representing the hour and a quarter show, with the original idea of ​​Mari Carmen Martínez and choreographed by Mercedes Carrillo, Carmen Avilés and Susana Ríos.

Dances that went through flamenco palos such as alegrías, snails, bulerías, fandangos or sevillanas, and that symbolized all the journey made in their day by the protagonists from the departure of Spain until their return.

Thus, the script was marked by 'Farewell in Spain with the family', 'Travel by train to France', 'Arrival in France', 'Picking grapes at work', 'Reading letters to the family', 'Footprint of the grape ',' End of the season 'and' Vuelta a España '.

Meanwhile, rooted songs among the attendees such as 'El emigrante', 'Adiós España querida' or 'Volver'.

Finally, note that the costumes were inspired by women from the lower class of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, with long dresses, toquillas and ponchos themselves in the use of their day to day.
