La lumbrerense Ana Gabarrón receives the second prize in the Isla Bonita Fashion Promise Contest with 'We Carry On' (19/08/2018)

The city of La Palma recognizes the work of this collection developed by Funny Swing from its studio in Madrid and the location it has in Puerto Lumbreras located in the Nursery of Cultural and Creative Companies recently opened in the town

The designer Lumbrerense Ana Gabarrón has just won the second prize at the Isla Bonita Fashion Promise Contest for her collection 'We Carry On'.

The organization highlighted its work among the six selected finalists, with a proposal "closely linked to the very idea of space" that, as the author describes, plays with a series of elements "as if it were a puzzle, mixing pleats with planes, transparencies with opacities, curves with straight lines and a range of cold and intense colors with flexible and common materials that are able to interchange between them making the pieces mutate ".

It is the third collection of La Lumbrerense under its brand Funny Swing, although it is the first one presented on the catwalk, so the news has been a very important incentive for the young designer.

Selected by Isla Bonita in the month of June, since then and thanks to the financial aid of the contest Gabarrón has developed its project.

A collection that last August 9 went to the catwalk of this meeting where the latest fashion trends come together, becoming the first recognition of these characteristics for the designer and her brand Funny Swing.

Ana Gabarrón develops her work from her studio located in the Spanish capital and the place she has in the Vivero de Empresas Cultural y Creativas in Puerto Lumbreras (CEILUM), recently inaugurated, where she was able to find the right inspiration for 'We carry on '.

As he explained, this collection "starts from the idea of utopia as an engine of change, like that inaccessible place that makes us continue".

Linking the concept of utopia to the space through the "geometrization" of the same, Gabarrón takes the hand of the game in a "constant come and go where the movement, like the game", acquires its own autonomy to achieve an infinite continuity.
