The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Angeles Túnez, today visited the students of the mixed employment and training program 'Medina Nogalte'.

A program in which 18 unemployed people between 25 and 54 years old participate, subsidized by the Employment and Training Service of the Region of Murcia (SEF) with an investment of 281,786.22 euros.

This mixed program consists of cleaning tasks in streets, parks and gardens of the historic center, urban center and districts.

In addition, the program also includes washing and disinfection work in public buildings and industrial facilities to improve sanitation, hygiene and quality of life conditions for Lumbrerenses, as well as urban environmental quality.

The project, which facilitates labor insertion, allows participants to alternate learning and qualification with productive work.

During the development of the program, students receive guidance, advice and professional information that enables them both to search for employment for others and for the establishment on their own.

The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles, highlighted the double social benefit of this mixed program of employment and training because "in addition to providing participants with training for employment, their work allows the cleaning of streets, avenues, parks and gardens of the municipality. "
