The municipality of Puerto Lumbreras celebrated this year for the first time the festival of San Antonio Abad, popularly known as San Antón, patron saint and protector of animals.

Around 11.30 am, the parish priest Alejandro Cases Ramón has officiated a mass at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, which has been attended by numerous local residents, accompanied by their pets.

At the end of the Mass, a blessing of pets was made in the emblematic El Caño fountain.
