The municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has hosted this morning the Regional Final of Cross Country in children, cadets and juveniles.
Around 1,200 students from 112 schools in 28 municipalities in the Region of Murcia have moved to Lumbrerense to participate in the sports event.
At 10.00 am the race began in the children's category with a distance of 2,500 meters and a boys' category with 3,000 meters.
Then, it was the turn of female and male cadet with a distance of 2,500 and 4,000 meters, respectively.
Around 11.00, those born from 2001 to 2002 (juveniles) covered distances of 2,500 (female) and 4,000 meters (male).
At 12.00, the traditional trophies and medals for teams classified in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, and medals for athletes classified in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
The event was attended by the mayor of the town, M Âª Angeles Túnez, the councilor for Sports, Juan Rubén Burrueco, and the general director of Sports, Alonso Gómez.
Finally, it should be noted that this test is organized by the Department of Sports of the City of Puerto Lumbreras, the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia and the General Directorate of Sports of the Region of Murcia, within the program 'School-age sport '
