The Health Center of Puerto Lumbreras, integrated into Health Area III, will have four new health professionals in the coming weeks.
Specifically, from April 1, two doctors and two nurses will join the staff to improve health care and assistance to citizens.
With this measure, the healthcare pressure of the professionals will be reduced and the number of patients assigned to each doctor will decrease by 24.24%, which will result in greater satisfaction with the work they do and will result in better care for the residents of the municipality. .
In the same way, this initiative will make it possible for physicians to be more available to develop health promotion and prevention programs with different groups of the municipality.
"After the repeated requests we have made from the City of Puerto Lumbreras, and thanks to the work of the regional government, the Health Center of Puerto Lumbreras will be reinforced its workforce, which will directly affect the benefit of all Lumbrerenses", highlighted the mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Tunisia.

Another novelty in the health field is the realization of radiographs at the Rafael Méndez Hospital.
As of May 1, Lumbrerenses will not have to go to the Santa Rosa de Lima Specialty Center, located in the center of Lorca, since patients will receive this service at Rafael Méndez Hospital.
Daily, 40 residents of Puerto Lumbreras have a radiological test.
It should be noted that there is a new free parking service for all users of the Rafael Méndez hospital in the parking lot of the Francisco Artés Carrasco stadium.
All the people who park their vehicle in this area will be transferred to the hospital by minibus, without having to pay any amount.
From the first hour of the day, the free bus line between the Artés Carrasco car park and the hospital center is underway.
Users can travel by minibus to the hospital between 7.30 and 15.30 every weekday.
The trips are every 15 minutes at the most.
