The total volume of unemployed in Puerto Lumbreras reached the end of August 2019 the figure of 694 unemployed, staying at the lowest levels of the last 10 years, except 2018 that had 661 unemployed in the same period.
With this, the unemployment rate in Puerto Lumbreras stands at 6.45%, well below the national rate of around 14%.
And it follows its tendency to fall in the last 7 years, since the number of unemployed in August 2019 with respect to the same period of 2012 has fallen by 393 people, representing a decrease of almost 37%.
The number of unemployed has increased slightly compared to the previous month (642) and the same period of the previous year (661), August traditionally being a month in which unemployment has risen nationally in recent years.
The number of contracts registered in August 2019 is 281 and in July it was 520, so there have been 239 fewer new hires compared to the previous month.
On the other hand, the number of affiliations according to Social Security data in July 2019 was 4765, increasing by 9 people compared to the previous month.
This figure has risen by 438 people in the last 5 years, assuming an increase of 10.12% compared to July 2015.
