José Manuel Sánchez has visited this morning schools in the municipality at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year in Infant and Primary Education, to verify that everything has started normally.
The new school year in Early Childhood and Primary Education begins with 1,760 students, a slight increase close to 2% compared to the previous year.
In addition, 200 3-year-old children begin their school stage for the first time, also increasing last year's figure.
It is worth mentioning that all schoolchildren have found their improved schools today after returning from vacation.
And it is that the City of Puerto Lumbreras has carried out conditioning actions during the summer months, among which cleaning, repair of blinds, doors, classroom and exterior painting, as well as maintenance activities in general.
In the same way, the Consistory developed a disinfection and disinfection campaign during the summer period as a preventive measure against possible pests and sources of infection that may affect the health of children or other members of the educational community at the end of the holiday. .
The mayor of the town, MÂª Ángeles Tunisia, has welcomed "all students, fathers and mothers, teachers and management teams and wish them a good start and development of the course."
And he also stressed that "families will have more aid thanks to the increase by the Autonomous Community in the granting of scholarships, the application of free textbooks in four Primary Education courses and open classrooms, or aid to dining room, among others ".
The Ministry of Education has also increased the number of teachers, support for bilingualism, reinforcement classes and better care for students with special needs.
