Yesterday a massive march against breast cancer was held, organized by the local lumbrerense board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in collaboration with the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, on the occasion of the international day of this disease.
The march began at 11.30 am from the Plaza de la Constitución and continued through the main streets of the town, with an itinerary accessible to people of all ages, until it ended at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary.
Previously, a rally was organized in the Plaza de la Constitución with manifest reading at the hands of Dr. Pedro Galindo, and breakfast for attendees.
The day had an informative stand and sale of articles with the purpose of raising funds for the association.
With the aim of giving more visibility to the fight against breast cancer, banners and pink bows were installed in different public buildings of the municipality such as the City Hall, the Women's Center or the Municipal Library.
A symbolic gesture of support for women struggling to combat this disease.
Within the program of activities of the Local Board of Puerto Lumbreras of the AECC, and with the collaboration of the City Council, a breast self-examination workshop will be held next Wednesday, October 23, with the aim of preventing breast cancer.
It will take place at 8:00 p.m. at the Women's Center.
In addition, on Saturday November 9 will take place the annual dinner for the benefit of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, and on November 30 the play "La fuga", a fun comedy by the San Juan Theater group, where the funds that are They will also go to the association.
