The Casa de los Duendes Cultural Center of Puerto Lumbreras hosts until December 13 the exhibition "the red cloud", by the Mazarron artist Blas Miras, from Monday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. 00 to 20:00, with free access.
These are works that are largely made up of discarded objects and elements, found materials, transformed lyrically or ironically, in another figuration.
In the words of Juan Gª Sandoval, museologist and art critic, when the viewer faces the work, he meets a combination of creativity and elements separated from the everyday, and that give rise to sculptures that allow us to better understand the ability Miras artistic.
Master, graduated in Philosophy and Educational Sciences, who since 1979 combines his two great passions: teaching and artistic creation, being awarded internationally several times for his role as a children's book writer.
You look fascinated by objects, it is their visual alphabet, which inspires their process, they are humble materials, located on walks along the coast or the countryside, or remnants of elements of his paternal house in Mazarrón, which he collectively collects and then uses His compositions.
His sculptures are mobile, fixed and mixed, and stand out for the use of materials, such as copper pipes, wood from beams or tree branches, and natural or patinated iron of bronze color.
Miras' work could be framed within a committed art, which deals with social and environmental problems, among others, in turn is within sustainable art, with the use of recycled and reused materials, to make us reflect on consumption models current, and that uses for the expressive capacities that with the new use is able to give it a "useful life".
In the exhibition, the spectator finds a dreamed and lived landscape, unites heaven and earth in one, the presence of duck fish or clouds, which as stars form their constellations, by means of which they refer to poetry, to world of stories and literature and, fundamentally, to the transcendence of the human being and love, as a common good that makes us end in endless directions, making his visual and creative works and compositions find an opening and an authentic expression space.
