Those interested in participating in the San Silvestre solidarity race for the benefit of Caritas must register on the same day of the event
The children of Puerto Lumbreras will say goodbye to 2019 with an end of the year party that will include children's bells, organized especially for the smallest of the municipality.
This activity is an initiative of the Department of Commerce of the City of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the association Aseplu, and the Chamber of Commerce of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras.
Specifically, the children's party will begin at 10 am at the door of the church with music, children's entertainment, workshops, inflatables and popular games.
At 12.00 it will be the turn of the children's bells in front of the clock of the Parish Church, located on San Francisco Street.
Children can say goodbye to the year with the twelve bells, but instead of taking grapes, jelly beans will be distributed.
On the other hand, that same day the San Silvestre solidarity race for children and adults will be held.
The sporting event will be organized by the Department of Physical Activity and Sports of the City of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the Nogalte Athletics Club.
In this way, starting at 11 am, the race will start in smaller categories from the door of the church, on San Francisco Street.
Prebenjamines (born in 2012 and later) will travel approximately 100 meters, benjamines (born in 2010 and 2011) 400 meters, fry (2008/2009) 600 meters, and children and cadets (from 2004 to 2007) 1 kilometer.
Then at 12:00 h.
the exit will be given for the absolute category (born in 2003 and earlier) with a distance of 5,000 meters.
There will be trophies for the top three classified in each category.
It should be noted that the draw of three paletillas, two bicycles will be held and the best individual costume and the best group costume of the participants in the San Silvestre race will be awarded.
The Councilor for Sports, Juan Rubén Burrueco, has encouraged citizens to participate in this solidarity event and explained that "the registration has a solidarity cost of 2 euros, will be formalized the same day of the test from 10:00 hours and the money raised will go to Caritas Parroquial. "
On the other hand, the "old afternoon" will be celebrated with the performance of the group "Los Caliqueños", at 5:30 p.m.
