The Christmas program organized by the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras brings on Sunday December 29 at 7:00 p.m. a free concert of the Youth Orchestra of the Region of Murcia (OJRM) in the church Our Lady of the Rosary of Puerto Lumbreras.
It will be the end to some intense days of work for these young musicians, which take place from yesterday, Thursday, December 26, until next Sunday, 29. During these days the musicians will prepare individually and collectively the performance that Silvia will lead Márquez and who will have solo violinist Cecilia Clares.
Clares is also part of the group of professors of the aforementioned work meeting of the Youth Orchestra, a cast that is completed with Lorenzo Meseguer (cello), Pepe Fernández Vera (flute) and Antonio Clares (viola).
Together, they will perfect a Baroque program in Puerto Lumbreras, with works by Rameau, Aguilera de Heredia, Corrette, Charpentier, Manfredini and Playford.
The dean of the Spanish youth orchestras
The Youth Orchestra of the Region of Murcia held its first concert in 1982, which gives it the title of "dean of the orchestras of Spanish youth."
After years of working with some of the most representative names in the music scene such as Benito Lauret, Jaime Belda or César Álvarez;
The OJRM has toured the most prestigious national and international stages with concerts at EXPO92 in Seville, tours in China and the United States.
The Orchestra ceased its activity for five years, until in 2017 the project that was launched with a concert in Christmas 2017 recovered under the baton of its Artistic Director, Virginia Martínez.
