At the end of the season, the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras subsidizes transportation for children to visit the facilities of Real Madrid
A few weeks ago the sixth season of the Socio-Sports School of Real Madrid in Puerto Lumbreras started.
Around 40 children from 5 to 17 years participate in this initiative that promotes education in values with football as a tool for the personal development of young people and the promotion of integration.
The Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Juan Rubén Burrueco, visited the children during their training at the facilities of the Municipal Soccer Field to deliver the official equipment of the Real Madrid Foundation.
Students perform their training on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in facilities that were improved with the replacement of 8,050 square meters of FIFA Quality Pro artificial turf.
The sessions of the School are directed by José Ángel Sánchez, professional coach for the Football Federation with extensive experience.
The technical-tactical teaching of football is one of the functions of this school, according to the specific methodology of the Real Madrid Foundation.
In the same way, the school also offers social training in an appropriate environment in which the participants channel their sports abilities from a competitive and human perspective, based on the positive values of the sport.
The Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Juan Rubén Burrueco, stressed that "this school promotes sports activities that aims at the integral development of children, as well as the promotion of fundamental values among which respect, companionship or equality".
At the end of each season the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras subsidizes bus transportation for children and parents to travel to Madrid and visit the Real Madrid facilities in Valdebebas, where they also carry out a day of living with the other schools of the club in the rest of Spain, joint tasks are performed and matches played.
The trip also includes a visit to the Santiago Bernabéu Tour where children can enjoy watching the trophy room, locker rooms or box, among other stadium facilities.
