Puerto Lumbreras is consolidated at the head of the most dynamic municipalities and employment generators in the Region of Murcia.
The total volume of unemployed in the municipality reached the end of January 2020 the figure of 673 unemployed, with a decrease of 0.15 percent over the previous month.
The municipality continues to increase its positive data, in contrast to national data, since while unemployment drops in Puerto Lumbreras, in Spain it rose by more than 90,000 people in January.
The number of unemployed people in Puerto Lumbreras has fallen by 419 in the last seven years, assuming a 38.37 percent decrease.
The total number of unemployed (673) is one of the lowest in a month of January since 2009 together with that of last 2019 (662).
Thus, the local unemployment rate stands at 6.25 percent, well below the national rate.
In terms of contracting, in January 2020 they have increased by 4.16 percent, comparing the same period in the last three years.
On the other hand, the number of Social Security affiliations in the month of December 2019 was 4,950 and in the same period of the previous year 4,870, so it has increased by 80 more affiliations, assuming a growth of 1.64% interannual
The number of affiliations according to Social Security data has increased by 354 in the last 5 years, assuming an increase of 7.70% compared to 2015.
