Cepsa will supply electricity to these points with 100% renewable energy
As a result of the alliance with Cepsa, IONITY has inaugurated an ultra-fast loading facility in Murcia.
The installation is located in Puerto Lumbreras and is equipped with two high power charging points with a capacity of up to 350 kW each.
These devices are compatible with most electric vehicles, by using the European combined standard (CCS), and significantly reduce the charging time for current electric vehicles, as well as those of the future.
With 1.2 megawatts of power for the two high power chargers, the IONITY installation is one of the fastest in Spain.
In addition, it is prepared so that four additional ultra-fast chargers can be installed depending on demand.
Cepsa will supply 100% renewable energy to these facilities.
In this way, IONITY continues the expansion project of its European network.
The goal is to make long-distance trips in electric vehicles a reality.
In this way, Puerto Lumbreras is one of the 340 high-power charging points installed within the Europa-E project, which covers the main routes in 13 member states of the European Union and the 9 corridors of the trans-European network (TEN-T ) and the core network.
The EUROP-E project is co-financed by the CEF (Connecting Europe Facility) of the European Union.
In July 2018, Cepsa signed a collaboration agreement with IONITY, the European high-performance cargo network powered by the BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ford Motor Company and Volkswagen Group, including Audi and Porsche, for the installation of charging points electricity in its Service Stations in Spain and Portugal.
In October of last year, IONITY installed its first four ultra-fast loading points on the Iberian Peninsula, in the town of PallejĂ (Barcelona).
Also, throughout 2020, this alliance intends to build more than 20 ultrafast loading facilities in Spain and Portugal.
Currently, Cepsa has an extensive network of nearly 1800 Service Stations in Spain and Portugal, based on a clear model of customer orientation, innovation, added value, security and loyalty.
In its Service Stations, in addition to different energy solutions for mobility, the company offers a multitude of products and services.
IONITY is based in Munich and was founded in 2017. It is a joint venture formed by the BMW Group, Mercedes Benz AG, Ford Motor Company, Volkswagen Group, including Audi and Porsche.
The mission of IONITY is to build an extensive and reliable ultra-fast recharge network for electric vehicles in Europe, to enable these vehicles to make long-distance journeys.
