Last week the Municipal Services removed the remains of the burning of about 5000 kilos of electrical equipment in the natural area of ​​La Tercia

A call is made to the responsibility and citizen collaboration to keep the channels of the municipality clean

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has requested the Water Commission of the Hydrographic Confederation of the Segura, a competent body in the field, to act both in cleaning and waste disposal in the channels that cross the municipality (Ramblas de Vilerda, Nogalte , Béjar, Murciano and Barranco del Confitero, among others) as in surveillance and sanctions against possible crimes against the environment.

To this end, the Councilor for Agriculture, Livestock, Water and Sustainable Development, César Gázquez, has submitted to the CHS several reports of recent acts of uncontrolled dumping of debris and other polluting elements at different points, specifically in the Ramblas de Vilerda, Nogalte , El Confitero and El Murciano.

Gázquez points out the "concern of the session before the wave of spills in the Puerto Lumbreras channels", so he asks the basin organization to take appropriate measures and carry out the cleaning, surveillance, investigation and sanction tasks in its case, which are within their competence.

Without going any further, last week the Department had to act on its own initiative and the Municipal Services of the lumbrerense town hall removed the rubble and burning remains of about 5000 kilos of electrical equipment in the natural area of ​​La Tercia on the Rambla de Vilerda .

This serious crime against the environment punishable by law with harsh penalties, was detected by the Local Police a few weeks ago, following a citizen complaint.

From the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras "the collaboration of the neighbors is requested and thanked so that there are no spills that affect our natural spaces, and that they warn of any crime of this type that is carried out in the channels of the town" , says César Gázquez.
