Around 300 students were trained in the agricultural sector during 2019 (22/02/2020)

The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras;

María Ángeles Tunisia, the Councilor for Agriculture, Livestock, Water and Sustainable Development;

César Gázquez, and the Councilor for Rural Development and Pedanías;

Francisco Gázquez, carried out this Friday at the municipal offices of El Esparragal-La Estación the delivery of diplomas to students of nine courses related to the agricultural sector and taught in the municipality during the past year 2019. A training aimed at both workers of the sector as unemployed, and carried out from the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras through the Integrated Training and Experience Center of Lorca (CIFEA) and the agricultural organizations COAG and ASAJA.

In total, around 300 students attended these courses, with the ultimate goal of "improving the competitiveness of our companies, and getting even more out of our agricultural and livestock products, in a fundamental sector in the economy and in the development of our municipality, "said Mayor María Ángeles Tunisia.

The courses of which the delivery of diplomas were carried out are "Phytosanitary basic level and qualified level", "Pruning of citrus fruits", "Organic farming basic level", "Safe handling of forklift truck", "Basic garden maintenance work" , "Safe handling of the tractor", "Pruning of olive trees" and "Management and maintenance of irrigation facilities".
