The Puerto Lumbreras City Council and the Cybervolunteers Foundation sign an agreement to promote the social use of technology (24/02/2020)

Totally free talks, workshops and courses will be held, in order to bridge socio-digital gaps, especially among groups with a higher risk of exclusion, or promote social entrepreneurship and technological volunteering.

The Puerto Lumbreras City Council has signed a collaboration agreement with the Cyber ​​Volunteers Foundation;

a non-profit NGO that promotes the social use of technology as a means to bridge the social gap, generate social innovation and empowerment of citizens, and ultimately, promote human rights through ICT.

An agreement that aims to establish a framework of collaboration for the development of programs, projects and activities, especially studies, talks, workshops and courses totally free, with the purpose of promoting digital transformation internally and externally, promoting the use of technology to alleviate socio-digital gaps, especially among groups with a higher risk of exclusion, to promote among Lumbrereans the use of technological tools to encourage their participation in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals or to promote social entrepreneurship and technological volunteering.

The first workshop will be held on March 23 at the CEILUM (next to the municipal summer swimming pools) from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., under the title "Digitized: mobile employment and entrepreneurship", aimed especially at women rural environment, to reduce the gender gap and facilitate training in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in order to promote employability and entrepreneurship among women in Puerto Lumbreras.

"Digitized" is a program of the Cybervolunteers Foundation, Fundación Mujeres and Google.org, which seeks to promote the social and labor insertion of women, as well as protect their rights and security in digital environments, in addition to generating a network of "digitizers", a community of women with greater interest in the use of technology to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment, thus contributing experiences and local female business references.
