The City of Puerto Lumbreras has put out to tender the contract for the supply and implementation of a public Wi-Fi network, with a contract amount of 15,000 euros.

Those interested must be registered in the Official Registry of Bidders and Classified Companies of the Public Sector, and have the deadline to submit their offer until next March 9 at 7:00 p.m., through the State Contracting Platform on the web https://contrataciondelestado.es

This action is financed by the European Union through the "wifi4EU" initiative, and will allow the municipality of Lumbrerense to provide quality Internet access in different public places free of charge and open to everyone, both neighbors and visitors.

"The objective is that this local wireless connection helps to close the digital divide and improve access to online services and the quality of life of Lumbrereans by being able to access services such as health and electronic administration, in addition to creating new offers of digital inclusion (for example, courses on computer and Internet use) as well as promoting the development of innovative small and medium-sized local companies in digital products and services, "said the councilor with skills in New Technologies;

The contract for tender includes the supply, installation, configuration, commissioning and guarantee of a secure communication network solution for the points chosen by the City Council through the installation of a public Wi-Fi network that will use connectivity services to access Internet existing in the different buildings of the municipal council.

The tenderer will offer everything necessary to launch 5 indoor Wi-Fi access points, as well as the Internet connection infrastructure in the Sports Center - covered pavilion, Ceilum, 24-hour study rooms located in Espacio Joven and Puerto Lumbreras Station and Municipal Library, and 7 exterior access points (plus infrastructure) in the Reina Sofía, Augusto Vels, La Cañada and Puerto Lumbreras Station parks, and in the summer pool, Constitution Square and municipal soccer field.
