According to the mayor, "this center is a strategic point of livestock production by having a high number of farms that generate a large traffic of vehicles by road."

In addition, the need for improvement in wastewater treatment in this Center has been addressed, as well as the installation of a public scale, which is intended to be built in the Center for Disinfection and Livestock Market, to improve the activity of existing centers .
"This scale will favor the economic and social development of the area, there is not yet another public scale in Puerto Lumbreras, being the first with these characteristics in the municipality and thus avoiding farmers having to move to neighboring municipalities", has expressed Maria Angeles Tunisia.
