The Puerto Lumbreras City Council approves the first package of economic measures to help companies, freelancers and citizens (19/03/2020)

Among the measures is the exemption from the payment of the fee to market vendors who have not had the opportunity to reopen their usual positions, as well as the compensation in the next payment of fees and taxes for establishments with terraces, such as bars and cafes.

In addition, the public fees and prices for services not provided by the City Council in March will be compensated due to the current restrictions, such as the activities of the sports center and nursery schools.

The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, María Ángeles Tunisia, has announced that the City Council is going to approve the first package of economic measures to help alleviate the economic consequences generated to companies, freelancers and citizens by the crisis caused by the coronavirus.

This generated by the restriction of movements and the closure of establishments and businesses after the decree of the State of Alarm, except for those considered essential.

A situation in which the government team of the Popular Party is going to launch a series of tax and fiscal shock measures in the municipality, aimed at all citizens, with special attention to small businesses, self-employed and companies.

"The objective of these actions is to help the people of Lumbrera to cope with the negative consequences of this situation, while trying to avoid the loss of jobs that can bring with it," said Tunisia.

Among these measures of the municipal consistory are the exemption from the payment of the fee to the sellers of markets that have not had the opportunity to reopen their habitual positions, as well as the compensation in the next payment of the fees and taxes established for road occupation public for establishments with terraces, such as bars and cafes.

In addition, the public fees and prices for services not provided by the City Council in March will be compensated due to the current restrictions: sports center activities (swimming pool, gym, courses) and nursery schools.

On the other hand, it will study to articulate other measures such as the fiscal reduction of the Economic Activities Tax (IAE) to local companies that suffer losses as a result of this emergency situation, reimbursement of receipts for drinking water and garbage to self-employed and companies, the moratorium on the payment of the circulation tax, general reduction of the IBI for the entire population as a measure to help families and economic reactivation of the municipality, or extend the bonuses established in the Social Water Bonus to include merchants, hoteliers in its coverage and autonomous.
