On the occasion of the International Day of the Gypsy People that is celebrated tomorrow, Wednesday, April 8, the Puerto Lumbreras City Council in collaboration with the Fundación Secretariado Gitano, has prepared several activities that will be disseminated through Facebook, due to the current situation of the State of alarm that we are in due to the evolution of the COVID-19.
A name day in which the history of this Town is remembered and its great cultural contribution to the wealth of our country is recognized.
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, María Ángeles Túnez, highlights that "it is also about giving visibility to the needs of this group, and fighting against inequality and integration in all areas of our society."
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras together with the Fundación Secretariado Gitano, develop a program to improve employability, "Currélatelo", in the town subsidized by the European Social Fund and the Murcian Institute of Social Action to improve job opportunities and employability of this collective.
The programming "online" through Facebook for this April 8 will begin at 11:00 am with an institutional statement by the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras;
