The Municipal Council for Economic, Business and Commercial Development will meet next Thursday to start an economic recovery plan (20/04/2020)

| The meeting, chaired by the Mayor, María Ángeles Tunisia, will bring to the table the consequences of the crisis caused by COVID -19 on entrepreneurs, hoteliers and the commercial sector | The Municipal Council for Economic, Business and Commercial Development will meet next Thursday, April 23 at 12:00 hours by telematic means for the first time and due to health alert circumstances, with an agenda focused on starting and working on an economic revival plan and revitalization of the municipality's commercial and hospitality sector. The commission will be chaired by María Ángeles Tunisia, mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, and will be attended by Rocío Martínez, councilor for Local Development and Economic Dynamization, and César Gázquez, councilor for Works.

Also, Juan Francisco Martínez, director of the Tourism Institute of the Region of Murcia, representatives of the Official Chamber of Commerce of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras, of the Association of Aseplu Entrepreneurs, of CECLOR, of Guadalentín Emprende, of the hoteliers of the municipality will participate.

The economic reactivation measures to be taken at this meeting will add to those already adopted by the Puerto Lumbreras City Council to alleviate the effects of the health crisis caused by COVID-19 on the local business fabric.

Among them the exemption from the payment of the fee to the vendors of markets and squares that have not been able to reopen their habitual positions, the total exemption to bars and cafes with terraces in the payment of the fees and taxes established for occupation of public roads while it lasts the State of Alarm, or the fiscal reduction of the Economic Activities Tax (IAEs) to local companies that suffer losses as a result of this emergency situation.

Drinking water and garbage receipts are also subsidized for self-employed workers and companies, and the Social Water Bonuses for merchants have been extended,hoteliers and freelancers. In addition, since the state of Alarm was declared, the Department of Economic Dynamization and Local Development has carried out different actions leading to daily reporting of all the measures that are being adopted by the central, regional and local governments.

On the other hand, it is worth highlighting other measures to reactivate the Puerto Lumbreras economy, which have already been carried out, such as the Prioritization Plan for payment to small and medium-sized companies, paying nearly 570,000 euros to suppliers since the declaration of the state of alarm, the exemption from the municipal rate of supporting documents for registration to request the mortgage moratorium to the banks, the moratorium on the payment of the circulation tax and the general reduction of the IBI until June, or the compensation of rates and public prices of services not provided by the City Council since March due to the current restrictions, in activities of the sports center (swimming pool, gym, courses) and nursery schools.
