Puerto Lumbreras will allocate more than 135,000 euros in economic and fiscal aid to companies and self-employed persons in the municipality (13/05/2020)

The government team of the Puerto Lumbreras City Council is going to bring to the extraordinary plenary session a total of 36 measures for the economic reactivation of the municipality and support for neighbors, families, businesses and companies affected by the COVID-19 health crisis.

Within these measures 5 large blocks are distinguished.

Economic and fiscal measures, of economic and social impulse to attend to all requests for Social Services grants and to promote local trade, requests to the regional and central government, as well as recognition to the victims of the pandemic that will take place held on July 7. Among the economic and fiscal measures, the creation of a municipal fund for aid to the self-employed and companies worth more than 135,000 euros stands out.

There will be 7 different types of aid.

17,000 euros will be earmarked for the compensation of a quarter for the occupancy rate of the weekly market, and 20,000 euros for the total exemption from the occupancy rate of public roads for hoteliers in Lumbrera throughout the year 2020, and in addition the spaces at no additional cost.

30,000 euros will also be invested for the compensation of a full quarter in the receipts of water and garbage for all economic activity closed in the municipality during the state of alarm, and 17,500 euros to discount the IBI in the part proportional to the closing period for the real estate destined for an economic activity.

On the other hand,20,000 euros are contemplated to discount the IAE by 25% on the municipal fee for those companies closed during the state of alarm, and 30,000 in aid for the rental of premises intended for an economic activity and that remain in activity for at least 6 months, with a maximum of 150 euros per request.

This call for aid will be managed and processed by the Department of Finance, from which the mayor, Raquel Rodríguez also highlights tax measures such as the 10% discount on the receipt of the Municipal Nursery Network for all those families affected by ERTES or closings business during the Health Crisis, during the first 3 months from the opening of these centers.

In addition, the exemption from the rent / canon is contemplated in the municipal hairdressers and bars while the state of alarm lasts, the voluntary payment period of the IVTM is extended, (Tax on Mechanical Traction vehicles) until July 6, two months more, and a Personalized Payment Plan is launched, so that citizens can split their tax debts into several terms at no additional cost.

Further,Exemption will be carried out for the entire population from the administrative fee for issuing the registration certificate throughout 2020 for the procedures carried out derived from COVID 19.

This is an essential document for the moratorium on mortgages or aid applications. As for the block of measures to boost the economy and society, it should be noted that 117,000 euros will be invested to attend to all requests for Social Services aid, to respond to the needs raised.

"Maintaining the reinforcement in financial and personal means during the period of the state of alarm and the current social emergency situation is a priority, allowing to continue paying the necessary attention to vulnerable people and groups, as well as continuing to meet the needs generated by the health crisis, "says Raquel Rodríguez.

Basic supplies to the most vulnerable families, the streamlining of Basic Insertion Income benefits and the creation of a permanent municipal advisory service in the field of Social Services are also guaranteed.

Further,resources for care and monitoring of victims of gender violence are increased. Within this block, the strengthening of the Citizen Attention Office is also contemplated, from which a service of attention and information is offered to SMEs and the Self-Employed, and a Plan for the Promotion and Dynamization of local commerce through tools such as online sales and promotion on social networks and the municipal website, and a plan to establish a shopping and leisure center in the open air: "it is a question of turning our municipality into weekends into an experience for leisure and consumption through different cultural and leisure initiatives on the street during the weekends (live music, theatrical performances, dance demonstrations, etc.) in order to reactivate local purchases and consumption,always in accordance with the provisions of the de-escalation plan and attending to the limitations of the health authorities, "Rodríguez points out.

Businesses that join this initiative will be able to extend their hours until 10:30 p.m., as well as expand their sales spaces showing their products on the street.
