| The government team from the municipal council visits the facilities of the lumbrerense company, which in a period of 5 years aims to provide to the city of the first Technological Park of Irrigation and Water Efficiency in the world | The government team of the Puerto Lumbreras City Council visited this morning the facilities of Extruline Systems, one of the Caudal Group companies in the municipality, whose main objective is the development of product lines, methods and procedures for water efficiency in irrigation.

The purpose of this meeting was to learn about the project of this business corporation to expand its industrial land and thus have more space to accommodate new activities within its growth policy.

The company will invest around 25 million euros in the next 5 years, and will create at least 150 jobs in addition to the current 100.

"The works will be carried out in 3 phases.

We want this important bet to put Puerto Lumbreras on the world map,creating the first Technological Park of Irrigation and Water Efficiency on the planet, through an industrial hub for the development and production of advanced irrigation equipment, for maximum agricultural performance with the lowest water consumption, "said Pedro Luis González, director of the Caudal Group. For her part, the mayor; María Ángeles Tunisia, stressed that "this is a great step forward for the economy and development of Puerto Lumbreras, since in addition to generating employment and progress, this group of companies will become an enclave for attracting talent for the best experts in irrigation and water efficiency ". The main economic engine of Puerto Lumbreras is the primary sector, directly generating more than 50 percent of employment in the municipality, indirectly creating an additional 40% of employment and ultimately contributing to the local economy more than 90% of the Gross Domestic Product.

Irrigation community, companies, farmers and ranchers contribute to make the local model one of the best examples of sustainable development and optimization of water resources.
