| The tests began by being carried out on workers who provided on-site service during the State of Alarm, and will be extended to the entire workforce | The Puerto Lumbreras City Council continues to carry out tests on municipal workers to detect antibodies against the coronavirus. The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras; María Ángeles Tunisia, stated that "we have been working for several weeks to offer these specific tests of high reliability, thus fulfilling the objective of this government team, which is none other than guaranteeing the health and safety of our staff, which affects in the protection of our neighbors.
" The tests have begun to be carried out in the first place to the municipal employees of essential services, who have been the most exposed during the State of Alarm, and who have maintained and maintain greater contact and attention to our neighbors, such as Local Police officers, Emergency Service-Civil Protection, or public cleaning, among others. "We are going to continue carrying out the tests on all municipal personnel over the next few weeks, once they have returned to the development of their professional activity in person," said the mayor. On the other hand, it must be remembered that the Puerto Lumbreras City Council, within the measures adopted due to the health crisis, has enabled its workers since the beginning of the State of Alarm the possibility of availing themselves of the teleworking modality, gradually joining the classroom work.
An action with the aim of facilitating the reconciliation of family and work life in the face of the suspension of classes in educational centers, as well as preventing possible contagion, especially in employees who are part of risk groups or suffer from chronic diseases.
Puerto Lumbreras is one of the pioneer municipalities in the Region of Murcia to implement this type of work for its employees.
