A neighbor from Lumbrere filed a complaint with the Civil Guard in which she reported having suffered a series of death threats from her husband and that, in addition, she suspected that he might have several firearms hidden inside her home. After activating the protocol provided for these cases, the first step of the device was to provide protection to the victim to prevent them from suffering any type of aggression. Parallel to the case of gender violence, the Civil Guard opened the corresponding investigation to clarify the alleged illicit possession of weapons by the accused. After obtaining all the necessary indications and previous judicial authorization, the Civil Guard has carried out the entry and registration of a property in Puerto Lumbreras, which has culminated in the discovery of a true arsenal hidden in the property, in which there were a dozen of firearms, knives and large amounts of ammunition. In total, the Civil Guards have seized five short weapons, five long weapons, a crossbow, an extendable defense, abundant white weapons (katanas, machetes, pocket knives, etc.) and more than 1,300 cartridges of different calibers. Finally, in addition to the crime of mistreatment in the family, the detainee is allegedly responsible for the crime of illegal possession of weapons and ammunition. The 64-year-old Spanish detainee, a resident of Puerto Lumbreras, the ammunition and weapons seized and the proceedings carried out have been made available to the Investigating Court of Lorca (Murcia).
