"The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras offered last June the facilities of this educational center to decongest the classrooms at the Institute and help ensure that the security measures against COVID-19 are fulfilled to the maximum," says the councilor of Education; Jose Manuel Sanchez The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras; María Ángeles Túnez, and the Councilor for Education; José Manuel Sánchez, together with technicians from the Ministry of Education and members of the management team of the IES Rambla de Nogalte, have visited this morning the facilities of the former CEIP Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, which the local consistory offered to the Ministry since last month of June for use for the start of the 2020/2021 academic year.
"The Puerto Lumbreras City Council made available to the competent body, which is the Ministry of Education and Culture, months ago,the facilities of this educational center to decongest the classrooms at the Rambla de Nogalte Institute and help ensure that the security measures against COVID-19 are fulfilled to the maximum and that the course can be developed in the best conditions for teachers and students ", said the Councilor for Education, José Manuel Sánchez. Specifically, if the Ministry of Education and Culture approves the transfer, there would be around 130 students who would start the course from next September 21 in the old Sagrado Corazón, belonging to the 8 groups that make up the medium-level training cycles of Physical Activities in the Natural Environment and Administrative Management, and the higher degree cycles of Physical Conditioning and Administration and Finance, thus freeing up several classrooms at IES Rambla de Nogalte, for use by the rest of the studies and courses at the center. This action is part of the measures that the Puerto Lumbreras City Council has implemented for a safe start of the course, and among which the reinforcement of material and human resources for disinfection and daily cleaning of educational centers, maintenance tasks, signage and adaptation of schools and nursery schools to the current health situation, or the acquisition of masks, hydroalcoholic gel and prevention materials to make them available to members of the educational community, among others.
