18 unemployed start the course on Social and Health Care for dependent people in Social Institutions (05/10/2020)

| At the end of the training, students will be able to do internships and work in nursing homes and other care services for dependents | The Department of Employment and Training of the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras together with the Regional Service of Employment and Training (SEF) begins today to teach the course "Social health care for dependent people in social institutions", of 370 hours plus 80 hours of professional internships.

The objective of this training, the theoretical part of which will end next January, is for students to acquire the necessary skills to care for dependent people in the social and health field at the institution where their work takes place; residential centers or Day Centers, among others,applying the strategies designed by the competent interdisciplinary team and the procedures to maintain and improve their personal autonomy and their relationships with the environment. The course is held in a blended mode, hosting the face-to-face sessions at the Local Development Center located in the "El Descanso" Industrial Park in Puerto Lumbreras, with all the safety and hygienic-sanitary measures established by current regulations. There are also measures to support training (scholarships) for those who meet the relevant requirements.

To access it, it is one of the essential requirements to have the title of Graduate in Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), so a few months ago the City Council carried out through the SEF the courses "Communication in the Spanish Language N2" and " Communication in Mathematics N2 "so that the attending students could meet this requirement to participate in the current training.

Once they finish the training, they will obtain the Certificate of Professionalism, which enables them to work as a caregiver for dependent people in social institutions. "With this course, from the Department of Employment and Training we are committed to promoting training as one of the fundamental tools for access to employment, since it prepares and trains people to face and access an occupation with a great future.

Healthcare entities and nursing homes have multiplied their presence in our Region and in our country in recent years, and will continue to do so in the near future due to the increase in the number of elderly and dependent people.

Thanks to this course we improve the employability of these students so that they can position themselves favorably before the demands of the current job market and we continue working to reduce our unemployment rate, which stands at around 8 percent, well below the regional and national average ",the Councilor for Education has pointed out; José Manuel Sánchez. The course "Community manager, tools, analytics and reports" will also be launched shortly, aimed at 15 students, primarily unemployed, who have a Baccalaureate or similar, with a duration of 100 hours.

A training with which it is intended to develop skills for the management of social networks at the business level, using the tools available for the management and generation of results reports.
