The Puerto Lumbreras City Council is preparing a second package of measures to help alleviate the economic consequences generated to companies, freelancers and citizens due to the crisis caused by the coronavirus and the declaration of the new State of Alarm that It entails restrictions on movements, schedules and others to help stop the advance of the pandemic and COVID-19 infections. In the next few days the mayor; María Ángeles Túnez, and the Councilor for Commerce; Rocío Martínez, will transfer these proposals to the business associations Ceclor, Chamber of Commerce, Aseplu and Guadalentín Emprende in a meeting of the municipal Council for Economic, Business and Commercial Development. It is a series of tax and fiscal shock measures in the municipality, aimed at all citizens, with special attention to small businesses, hotels, autonomous communities and companies. "The objective of these actions is to help Lumbrerenses cope with the negative consequences that this situation produces, while we try to avoid the loss of jobs that it can bring with it," said the Councilor for Commerce; Rocío Martínez. Among these economic measures of the municipal council for the first semester of 2021, coinciding with the validity of the State of Alarm, would be the suspension in the occupancy rate of public roads for hoteliers during the first 6 months of 2021, and the bonus 75 percent of the ICIO (Tax on Constructions, Installations and Works) for conditioning works motivated by COVID-19.

The rate for the provision of the weekly market service would also be reduced by 50 percent. "On the other hand, the City Council proposes to maintain for one more year the freezing of the public price for water consumption, and the established bonuses, which represents a significant saving for the citizens' pockets, in addition to discounting 30 percent the rate of Municipal Infant Schools for those parents affected by an ERTE or self-employed in cessation of activity, and 20 percent in sports facilities for Lumbrerenses affected by ERTE, "Martínez explained.
