The Puerto Lumbreras City Council will suspend the occupancy rate of the public road during the first 6 months of next year 2021 due to the economic consequences of the new declaration of State of Alarm, and the restrictions on capacity inside the premises, as well as in mobility and closing hours to stop the advance of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this way, a measure that the Lumbrerense council has already been applying since the previous State of Alarm that was decreed last March is extended. Likewise, the City Council continues to facilitate the expansion and occupation of public spaces to all establishments in the municipality, at no additional cost, in order to contribute to coping with the economic effects of the pandemic and maintaining employment in the hotel and restaurant sector.

In this way, the circumstances of each establishment will be individually analyzed, adapting the necessary conditions to comply with current security regulations and without harming third parties, allowing expansion of terraces and enclosures in the winter season, and thus guaranteeing the hoteliers have as many tables and chairs as possible, maintaining social distancing and safety measures on public roads. This morning municipal technicians and Local Police have visited the establishments of Puerto Lumbreras reporting on the conditions that must be met in terms of separation of tables and chairs on the terraces, and requirements of the enclosures in terms of ventilation, height and surface. The application period opens on November 1, and ends on May 1 in the case of enclosures and June 1 for terraces, in accordance with the restrictions established by the new State of Alarm.

The procedure must be done in the Urban Planning services, attaching to the instance, which can be downloaded from the municipal website www.puertolumbreras.es, the pertinent documentation.

The Department of Economic Dynamization and Local Development makes the email address terrazas@puertolumbreras.es available to hoteliers for this request, as well as for any questions they need to solve by municipal technicians. "The Puerto Lumbreras City Council is not going to skimp on efforts to support the hospitality sector of our municipality, one of the most affected by the pandemic and by this new declaration of the state of alarm.

It is an economic engine and a generator of fundamental employment, and we are going to implement the necessary measures to sustain it, "says councilor Rocío Martínez. On the other hand, the Department of Economic Dynamization and Local Development has distributed in the establishments of the municipality posters to encourage the population to advance their dinner schedule at 8:00 p.m.

and in this way to promote consumption before the curfew time.

"We also want to give our neighbors confidence when visiting our bars and restaurants, since our hospitality is safe and has made an important effort to adapt to all the security measures set by the health authorities," says Martínez.
