The City Council hosts telematic children's plenary sessions to commemorate Constitution Day (30/11/2020)

| The objective of this initiative is to familiarize and bring the little ones closer to the local administration so that they know how it works | About 200 sixth grade students from the municipal schools participate in the activity, which will be broadcast through the Facebook page of the Puerto Lumbreras City Council The Puerto Lumbreras City Council will host next Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 the Children's Plenary sessions that will be held for another year to commemorate the Constitution Day that will be held next Sunday, December 6.

Thus, around 200 sixth grade students from the municipal schools participate in these plenary sessions, which this time will take place electronically via the Internet and not in person, due to the circumstances imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The activity will begin on Wednesday at 09:30.

with the CEIP Sagrado Corazón, being the turn of the CEIP Purísima Concepción at 12:00 h.

Already on Thursday at the same times the Juan Antonio López Alcaraz and Asunción Jordán schools will participate, respectively. The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Mª Ángeles Túnez, will preside over these plenary sessions, which can be seen live on the Facebook page of the Puerto Lumbreras City Council, and in which the students will present motions and proposals.

In this way, for the development of the same, a spokesperson will be elected who will be the one who will issue a series of proposals to the mayor, which will later be put to a vote.

In addition, at the end of the Plenary, there will be a question and answer session in which the first mayor will resolve the doubts raised by the schoolchildren. The Councilor for Education; José Manuel Sánchez, explained that 'with the organization of the Children's Plenary sessions what we intend is to bring the local administration closer to the little ones so that they become familiar with their City Council.

Furthermore, it is an opportunity to listen to the requests of the Puerto Lumbreras schoolchildren.

Given the health situation, we will do so electronically, adopting all the security measures established by the health authorities.

' It should be noted that users of the CIPED of Puerto Lumbreras will also participate, in commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated next Thursday, December 3.
