The works of the new residence for the elderly, with capacity for almost a hundred users, are entering their final phase (09/12/2020)

The project has 4,400 square meters of built area and will have the capacity to house 94 users.

On the first floor, common services such as reception, visiting room and waiting room will be enabled, while the remaining floors will be occupied with 48 rooms and common lounges. Tunisia has highlighted that "one of the most ambitious projects of the Government team is already a reality and comes to offer a necessary and fundamental service such as guaranteeing the well-being of the elderly when they need specialized assistance, and which was not available In addition, it is a project that generates direct and indirect jobs, and that does not affect municipal coffers or citizens.

" However, the mayor has indicated that "we work so that the Autonomous Community arranges places with the IMAS so that all those older people who want to enter this residence can do so, regardless of their economic situation." The new residence will be adapted to attend all levels of dependency and pathologies that affect the elderly.

In addition to accommodation, the elderly will have a letter of services that will include maintenance with their own kitchen service, cleaning, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, doctor, podiatry, laundry, hairdressing and aesthetics. On the other hand, users will have the possibility to choose between different types of stay: permanent, weekend, family respite, post-hospital recovery, day and / or night stay. Tunisia also stressed that "the project will also entail a considerable improvement in the area and the environment, with 500 square meters of fully accessible recreation area", and concluded that "it completes the wide range of services that we already offer to Greater Lumbrerenses, together with the Day Center, the Pensioners' Homes or the geronto-gymnastics areas.
